ziggy, miss ellie mae, and bud
three  equine  that enrich our lives

bud, ellie, ziggy

ziggy is a bay molly mule (a girl) with dun factor, i.e. she has the donkey cross on her back and a few stripes on her legs. she was born in feb. 1996 in tucson, arizona, at the TJC ranch. her dam is a paso peruvian mare and her sire a red roan mammoth jack. as a yearling she was shipped to eastern washington and at 2 1/2 years old she came to live with us here near issaquah in washington state, at the bottom of tiger mountain. ziggy stands 15.3hh and is presently in training - here at our house - as a saddle mule. ziggy is my big mule love - love at first sight, which was a photo on the internet. we have  been through trying times together and have thus forged a very strong bond.

ellie came to join ziggy in october of 1999. she was born in august of 1996 in enumclaw, wa. and is a beautiful black mammoth donkey who stands about 14.3hh, has white markings and the most wonderful long ears. ellie is larry's donkey and there's no doubt about it - coz he is HER person. she has already taken him for a short ride on the trail up tiger mountain and is eager to go again. she has a most wonderful disposition, has never given us any trouble, goes wherever we go, is quietly smarter than the others....  and just adorable.

well, next came bud. he joined us somewhat unexpectedly in april of 2000, a 16hh dark brown john mule, 14 yrs old, trained to ride, a very reliable mount and a very even tempered mule boy. his dam is an appaloosa mare. he is a total joy and a perfect addition to the 2 girls, one being a lovable hot-head and the other a delightful mischief-maker;  now there's bud with his seasoned smarts and his kind, old-soul demeanor.
