What is so appealing about a doll? They are a source of delight to a child but often mysterious, a little ominous and disturbing to an adult.
Long before they were children’s play-toys, small figures were used by adults in various forms of ritual and ceremony.
Made of sticks, wire, metal, string, beads, cloth, wax, found objects and all manner of unusual things, dolls possess a succinct and strange ability to embody powerful energy.
To create your own doll figure, bring any kind of suitable material that appeals to you including – but not limited to – sticks, cloth, beads, teeth, hair, wool, string, rope, wire, small clothing, clay etc.
Some tools and materials will be available – including whatever you can find ‘naturally’ on our rural property.
Examples will be provided.
Beginning in October we ask for a $5 contribution towards the heating cost if this workshop is held inside the studio.

Love to attend the Rustic Doll Workshop and the Rustic Jewelery. However the date for the jewelry class won’t work. If I came up with a couple other folk could we do a different class day on the jewelery?. I’m in for the Rustic Doll Class. Mary
Mary – we are very flexible regarding the workshop schedule. I’ll be in touch (via email) asap about figuring out a day that works for you. Thank you, S.
